Splash squad is my new thing!
I thought of it last weekend after a restoring swim at Kirra. I’m depleted at the moment from my own mind and drive. I created a group on text and asked a few friends if they wanted to join me at 6.30am for a swim (well, we don’t really swim, it’s more of a splash).
Can I tell you… it’s f*cking restoring and I do believe it was a supernatural thought that came to give life!
We are all talking about how we feel amazing and face the day with clarity and energy. Naomi tells us to open our eyes under water to help our sinuses… yet to be confirmed medically haha. What the mind believes the body achieves, so I do it.
The funny thing is I don’t like the surf or cold water. That’s why I choose Kirra, it’s not so rough (so far) and I ignore the temperature of the sea as they say “it’s fine once you get in”.

We then pop into my fav store Cotton Living and have a coffee. These last 3 days have literally been like a miracle drug for me. I was in a funk emotionally, spiritually, mentally.
So, I thought to myself I must do something that is totally opposite to my comfort zone. I found it. Look, I’m never going to buy a surfboard, however I have ordered the towel thing that pops over your head and some long sleeve warmer swimmers. We are going to get them embroidered with “splash squad”. See this is me… I always take things to the extreme. I couldn’t just go for a swim and then have a coffee.
I had one of my team drive an hour to join us and she asked me to baptise her. I did inform her I’m not an ordained minister however I’m happy to say a prayer over her floating body.
What I can tell you is a hot shower afterwards never felt so good.

My skin felt tight and dry after all this salt water and trust me when I say, Glory Oil brought it the nourishment it screamed for. I was literally making noises rubbing it in. So, I will be stocking up during my season of sea swimming.
Sandy Sonya over and out.
